Internships & Placements
Proboscis offers unpaid 3 to 6 month internships and placement opportunities connected to specific projects and activities. Interns may be undergraduate or graduate students, in part-time employment, unemployed or freelance. Internships can be part-time (minimum 2 days per week) for full-time.

Selection is made on the basis of interest, commitment and motivation in working for Proboscis, ability to contribute and commitment to gaining a meaningful work experience. The ability to communicate your knowledge of or interest in the issues connected to an internship will enhance your application.

Proboscis positively encourages applications from all sections of the community.
Internships are unpaid, but Proboscis does offer a per diem to cover travel and subsistence.

Current Opportunities

Curatorial/Editorial : we have an ongoing internship opportunity to work with us on editorial and commissioning activities for Diffusion and other projects. Candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside us in developing collaborations and commissioning other creative practitioners
Design & Communication : we have an ongoing internship opportunity for candidates with backgronds in communications and design – working on marketing and communications projects alongside the Proboscis team that bring our work to new audiences and communicate our ideas in fresh and dynamic ways.
Programming/Web Coder : we have a number of opportunities for programmers and web designers to help us develop our various online projects. Knowledge and/or experience of popular languages and platforms for creating and developing web applications is highly desirable.

Candidates should be willing to commit to at least 2 days per week for a minimum of 3 months. We can also host interns and placements for longer periods or for shorter, full time periods.
